HAT TRICK AWARD SUCCESS FOR AUBREY ALLEN
Aubrey Allen is celebrating 2012 with an award winning hat-trick success in Restaurant magazine’s Chef Choice Awards.
For the third year running, the Coventry based premier butcher has won the coveted ‘Meat Supplier’ title for 2012 as the catering industry’s preferred provider.
Nominated and voted entirely by chefs from pubs and hotels to Michelin star restaurants around the UK, completing the hat-trick has added yet more pride to the highly skilled team at this hugely successful butchery business.
A delighted Russell Allen, managing director of Aubrey Allen said: “What an amazing way to start 2012! Winning the title three years in a row is a fantastic accolade and the best recognition and endorsement we could possibly receive from our customers, who share the same appreciation for the best of the best quality meat that’s available.
“Our thanks particularly go to all the chefs for taking time out of the kitchens during their busiest time of the year just to vote for Aubrey Allen and to Restaurant Magazine for organising the awards”, he added.
As a ‘thank you’ to all its customers, Aubrey Allen is launching a celebratory ‘Hat-trick Heroes’ campaign which features a series of promotions and special lunches around the UK.
To mark and celebrate the occasion with its 100 strong staff, a commemorative cake was commissioned to ensure that everyone working at Aubrey Allen could enjoy a taste of award winning success, as the icing on the cake for the start of 2012.

Aubrey Allen butchers so close to victory
STAR butchers from Aubrey Allen performed well when representing England in an international butchery competition in France.
Martin Crombie and Michael Perkins displayed their best knife skills against international counterparts in the city of Lyon, in a competition which runs alongside the culinary Olympics known as the Bocuse D’Or.
An Aubrey Allen spokesperson said: “While they did not win – as it was all about all singing and dancing light flashing stands prepared over 18 months ago when we had two weeks notice - the judges did say that if it was judged on butchery skills alone then Martin would have won it.”
Aubrey Allen also scooped yet another national award recently as the 'chef’s favourite meat supplier' in a competition where chefs across the country had to vote for their best butcher.
It's official...we are 'Meat Supplier of the Year 2011'
We are absolutely delighted to announce that, for the second year running, our wonderful customers have voted Aubrey Allen as Winner of the 'Meat Supplier' category in Restaurant magazine's 'Chef's Choice Awards 2011' (previously Chef's Selection).
This is indeed an accolade and an award which means so much to us.
It's our business; our promise; our mission to acquire, prepare and supply the best products to the finest restaurants in the land. Our front-line team receive thanks every day for the service they provide but, for busy Chefs to take time out to put pen to paper and make those thanks official by way of such an award is invaluable. It's an acknowledgement that filters through our ranks and touches every single person who contributes to make Aubrey Allen the fine business that it is. It's an award that every-one of us can feel rightly proud to have achieved and, for our customers and those who are considering making us their preferred meat supplier, fine endorsement that they are dealing with the best.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the Chefs who voted for Aubrey Allen, and our appreciation to Restaurant Magazine for their acknowledgment and continued support of all suppliers to this great industry.
We are 'National Catering Butcher of the Year 2010/11'! - 10th June 2010
For an unprecedented third time, Aubrey Allen were named 'National Catering Butcher of the Year' at the Meat Management Industry Awards 2010. Held on the 9th June at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, our Managing Director, Peter Allen, collected this prestigious award alongside our master butcher Bob Spring and the man responsible for sourcing only the finest meat for us, nationwide, Alan Healy. Both Bob and Alan have worked tirelessly over the past 25 years to help build Aubrey Allen's reputation, and so it was entirely fitting for them to be able to accept such accolade in recognition of their hard work and that of their colleagues across the business.
Aubrey Allen has continued to build its reputation on an unfailing commitment to sourcing the very best of British meat. Innovation has always been a key factor in the development of the business, which progressed from a local retailer to a national catering butcher in the 1980s when Peter identified foodservice as a growth area for the butchery trade. It is this commitment to innovation, quality of product and customer service which impressed the judges to make their recommendations to the Meat Management Industry and to ultimately bestow such an honour.
Peter Allen, commenting on this fantastic achievement said, "To be honoured with this great award is staggering. It actually inspires us all to keep improving and achieve much more! I would like to thank and congratulate Bob Spring, our master butcher of over 25 years who oversees the continual education of our butchers so ably and Alan Healy, our purchasing director, who understands more about meat quality than anyone I have ever met. This award gives us much to celebrate and look back on, but also so much to look forward to.
